What is the VTC Microbusiness Marketing Leverage Program?
The VTC Microbusiness Marketing Leverage Program is aimed at helping small tourism-related businesses amplify their marketing efforts by providing crucial financial support. The program requires applicants to develop a targeted, research-based marketing plan that focuses on attracting tourists to Colonial Beach, particularly during the less busy shoulder season from September to May. This initiative ensures a steady stream of visitors year-round, benefiting both businesses and the local economy.
Who is Eligible?
Eligibility for the program extends to small tourism-related businesses with 20 or fewer full-time equivalent employees. This includes a variety of businesses in Colonial Beach, such as boutique retail shops, restaurants, food trucks, small attractions, craft breweries, distilleries, wineries, boutique lodging, bed and breakfasts, and events aimed at boosting shoulder season visitation. Additionally, Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), Chambers of Commerce, and NGOs, including Planning District Commissions (PDCs) and Main Street organizations, can apply. Their applications must specifically support microbusinesses or shoulder season tourism through robust marketing plans.
