The spot and perch bite has been excellent with some real nice Spot and Perch being caught on blood worms, lug worms and peeler crabs!
Croaker bite has been pretty good with some eating size fish being mixed in, caught on blood worms, lug worms, peeler crabs, shrimp and squid.
If you are looking for Catfish, the Rappahannock River is your best bet right now. We are still waiting for them to show their faces in the Potomac River! We are hoping that will start to happen when the temperature cools down a bit.
Bass and Bluegill have been hitting in the ponds! Crank bait, Chatter baits and Senco worms are working very well!
Recreational ROCK FISH SEASON on the Potomac River will be back in on Friday August 21st!!!
Anglers get ready!!!!
We are very happy to report the first CB Kids FISH ON Youth Fishing day held on the Town of Colonial Beach Pier was a huge success last month! We had 25 young anglers ages 5 to 15 join us for a great day of learning the fundamentals and fishing! A HUGH THANK YOU to all the individuals, organizations, and businesses who sponsored and or volunteered for this fantastic event. We could not have done this without your support!!!! Many great memories were made on the pier that day for the youngsters and the young at heart!
We look forward to the next CB Kids FISH ON Youth day in the near future. Follow Kimmie Ann Bait & Tackle, the Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce or the Colonial Beach Parks and Rec page for details on the next event.
